TV Article No 4 in SLC, UT

As most of you know, channel 2 in SLC reported on a just turned 30 year old male

in SLC that has been confirmed by biopsy as haveing CJD. Spoke at length with

the family today and they are devastated. Called Channel 2 for their address

today and we discussed a few things - when I got home at 7:45 pm tonight,

Channel 2 (CBS) had a message on the recorder to call them. Called and they

asked a few questions about our making it reportable activities, then said they

wanted an interview for a telecast, I asked when and they said tonight. So they

arrived at 8:30 pm, did the interview and we were on TV again this week for a

short follow-up story on getting the disease made reportable. They showed the

30 year old, his wife, gave a brief of his story, then we discussed getting it

made reportable and why. It was short, but we got some more people informed.

I plan to get these tapes digitized and sent out on CJDVoice for all to see.

Not sure how yet so we can keep the files of a reasonable size. They will be

big, need to find a method of keeping it under 15 megs if we can, may have to

segment it. Will try this week. Mel in SLC.
