Guest guest
Thats right Kathy, I feel like I have been the one to coin that phrase. We are all in this together and should not criticize the work of others. Robin
Guest guest
Mr. SingELtary, I am not in a race to see who can educate more of the public. This project is serving three purposes. 1. To make a beautiful and lasting Memorial to our Loved Ones. Hopefully it will last much longer than it takes to find a cure. 2. It is involving members of the group that are generally quiet. 3. It is going to bring awareness of CJD in a whole new way. It's too bad you can't make it to the conference I am sure that many wanted to meet you, including me. Also I have always been a big supporter of you right from the beginning. This is all I am saying about this because I am not tainting a wonderful project by bickering over it. Guest guest
Robin, Both you and Terry are correct. The public needs to be made aware of CJD and the devastating effects it has on families, and the tragedy that everyone feels. And yes there are many things that can be done to inform others, and yes they all entail a great deal of work. But lets remember...We are all in this together. We must support each other to ensure many many others find out about this disease and encourage those with the knowledge to do new research and continue research to find out the cause and treatment of CJD. And maybe in the future we will not have to experience the lost or pain anymore. Kathy
Guest guest
Terry Ease up. You are right Quilts don't hang in the library, but many people own quilt. Look at the Huge Quilt in memory of Aids victims. It has drawn a great deal of attention to Aids. No it may not educate, but what it does is brings attention to the problem. Then people become more interested in the subject and begin to research it. By researching the information, they learn and hopefully will begin to tmore about it. I am sorry you will miss the conference. I am hoping it will be informative and bring all of us closer together. Dr. Pruisner was here at Washington University about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I did not get to hear him lecture. However I was told by Dad's Neurologist the place was overflowing with people. The quilt may bring comfort to many families, while bring attention to the disease. So Robin you go for it and you get it completed. May it end up being smaller than the aids quilt in hopes to find a cure. And Terry you keep pressing on with sending out vaulable information for us to read. Both of you are providing us with Great support and overflowing information. Together it will work. Kathy " Terry S. [MADCOW U.S.A.]] Go for it Robin, I am not going to argue with you. As I said, it's your rights, and my thoughts................ we both are entitled to them, at least the last time I looked. But, I would not bank on more people being educated by the quilt, than by a book in a library. I remember when Mom first was diagnosed with CJD. I went to the Public Library, and TRIED to look up some books on CJD. There were none. Just some Government information on CJD. Of course, I saw no QUILTS hanging from the Library either........ By the way, I will not be able to make it to the Conference (for personel reasons), so if you would like to Chastise me for that to, go ahead on.............. Guest guest
Go...Girlfriend....you are a blessing to us and God will bless your efforts. We ALL have something we can do and maybe others will never see or ever know what it was. But the most important thing is not to please man, but to please God. And child you ARE pleasing to Him.
