I had heard that the phone companies were planning to apply for rate changes

for Internet use.

I don't know how paying more surcharges would be a good thing. This will not

improve service and it is just another way of getting more money. When Judge

Green broke up the telephone company because it was a monopoly, his reasons

were that we would get cheaper rates and better service. BELIEVE ME, the

telephone service and rates were much better when it was a monopoly. They

can pay for their own research with the profits they are making now.

As far as schools long distance bills, we will pay for them in our taxes if

there is an increase. Thus, we will be charged twice....................Pat
