Guest guest
Hi Everybody! BJ has been having continous swollen tonsils for the past 6 months. Though no puss or white spots or anything like that, just red and swollen. I think I sort of attributed it to reflux, I thought it was irritating his throat. Well he has been having numerous positive strep tests. We saw an infectious disease doc and he said he thinks BJ is a carrier of strep. Has anyone heard of this before? Anyways, they don't seem to think that taking his tonsils out would solve his probs. Finally, after ANOTHER positive strep test last Friday, the ID doc decided to give him some med that would kill it. Cleocin, has anyone ever used it? I read the package insert and it said some strong cautions against using with children with GI probs. That kinda scares me since BJ is doing so well GI wise. I DO NOT want a relapse. I would appreciate any info. Thanks Dawn, mommy to Dakota, 6 and BJ, 3(eosinophil gastro, reflux, asthma, fundo 10/96, ear tubes 7/98, chronic strep)
