Guest guest
Dear Judy, Thank you for the advice that you gave us about how to differently use the gastrocrom. For about a week now, we have been giving Matt a snack, before the gastrocrom...and he has yet to complain of serious pain, before the meal. Just maybe, it will make all of the difference for him. The periactin? he is on because Matt was not responding to the prednisone. (I am sorry if I am spelling these meds wrong) It is suppose to help maintain the swelling of the linings and increase his appetite. It also lowers the immune system and it is low enough as it is. The doc's took Matt off of the periactin in December after a combo of wheat and strepp throat. We came very close to losing him. Since then, Matt has lost 5 pounds. Two weeks ago, we started him back on the periacton, but I have yet to see an increase of appetite. Changing how we give the gastrocrom and the positive results which we have seen has been encouraging. Perhaps, now we can gain back some of what we have lost. I should also let you know that yesterday, I talked with one of the docs at Mt Sinai, in NY, and he was wondering why Matt was even taking the gastrocrom, if it was causing so much discomfort. I explained about how we were giving it differently and he approved. A step in the right direction!! Jacque
