Hi Everyone:

When I read the below email from Mel Steiger to Dorothy, I asked Mel's

permission to forward this info. on to our CJD Voice group. His information

is interesting.

Thanks, Mel...

Dorothy, you have a beautiful opportunity to work the sad news in OK of a 27

year old male, deer hunter, CJD positive. Lives in Miami, OK. Where do you

live in OK? You and Diane should get together and see if you can get a

science or health reporter interested.

Dorothy, why not call the State Vet and see if they have any record of CWD in

the state, have they sampled, etc. Had a news story on CNN today, and another

on a SLC station today, tonight and they said tomorrow on the possibility of

CWD transmitting to humans. We are making headway.

Talked to the State Vet today, about CWD transmitting to ferrets and goats,

which has been proven to happen, and he was very very nice to me. Even

thanked me in an email message for sending him some new information and gave

me his new email address. That meant a lot to me - much different than the

" wish you would go away " attitude that I used to feel. If you don't feel

comfortable with this, please let me know.
