Guest guest
I just read a new book on the thyroid because I am a thyroid cancer survivor. Under the children's section, it mentioned a lack of iodine can lead to partial or total deafness. It says children are more susceptible to this than adults. You get iodine from seaweed, milk, eggs and meat. Well, AJ has never had any of the mentioned foods. A few hot dogs or should I say bites of hot dogs. Also, chronic diarrhea and vomiting is mentioned as another factor in iodine deficiency. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this. Anyone come up with a lack of iodine in blood work? I know I am probably grasping at straws, but I thought I would put it out there for any feedback. AJ goes to the GI on Thursday. I will have him check her past bloodwork. Thanks for listening.
