Guest guest
Ok all: Here is a new one. Clayton has been on augmentum for 5 days now due to an ear infection that he got while on Gantrisin (for maintenance once a day). As I mentioned yesterday he was walking hunched over. He did the same thing this morning except he could not even stand up -- but rather stayed in the fetal position. His tummy was hard as a rock. WHO DO YOU CALL (Surgeon, GI or Ped). I started with the ped since his office opened first and was closest. Well, we got there and by this time (11am) Clayton was walking but not very happy and lethargic for him -- he sat in my lap at the office waiting room and did not move or try to get up. Ped says he has no obstructions requiring surgery (but does have poop in there) and then decided to look in his ears and throat -- since it is Clayton. Did not like how Clayton's throat look so he cultured it - GUESS WHAT - Clayton has strep. He says that he thinks that the strep has colonized into the stomach and is causing stomach pain. This happens in less than 10% of kids - so of course it happens to Clayton. He also said that we should feed him at a slower rate for the next couple of nights. He is now of Keflex. Well when it rains it pours. Now if someone can tell me how to prevent Cole and Jake from getting strep I will give them a medal. (or a hug) Love, Sharon mommy to Jake (5) and fraternal twins (34.5 weeks) (3/30/97) - Cole -(nda) and Clayton (eosinophilic gastroenteritis, food allergies (milk, soy, eggs, wheat), g-tube, Nissen and possible latex allergy, some DD, undiagnosed neuro issues and sensory integration disorder and now tremors. WHEN WILL THIS END)
