Gastric tubes that are not able to be sterilized are disposable. Also there is

no known case of transmission from exposure to instruments that are sterilized

using conventional methods except for brain surgery. Even then, considering

the number of patients having had brain biopsies over the years, the risk or

infectivity of crainiotomy instruments must be rendered non infectious by the

methods used.
