Guest guest
This isnt' really EG but AJ has EG and I am really bummed out. Thanks for listening. How come when you are talking to parents and mention that you are taking your child for a hearing eval, they say, my kid said what and huh and i wondered if they could hear also. It came back that they were tuning me out. I take AJ for an hearing eval. On the way there, she asks where are we going. i said, for a hearing test. she said, i don't need a earing test, my ears are pierced. and so we went to have her hearing checked and she can't hear. At least she is not driving us crazy on purpose. We've to go back next week for more tests and to decide what to do. i am curious, how and why, kids lose hearing if they haven't had lots of ear infections. The audiologist asked about allergies. Allergies can play a part in hearing loss, but it is because allergies can cause ear infections. ear infections equals hearing loss. and all of her allergens have been eliminated or so we thought. i also called for an appt for a speech eval. I have a hard time understanding AJ. I thought that it is because i compare her with her classmates. They are 6-12 months older than she is. The audiologist felt she was difficult to understand also. And that is my exciting day--so far. hope yours is not as exciting!! phyllis
