Guest guest
I just have a few comments. I havent checked my email since Friday evening and it is Sunday evening and I have 355 messages on my computer from this group. I dont mean to be rude but cant some of the comments go directly to the author who wrote the email instead of posting to the whole group. And if it doesnt even pertain to atkins how about writing OT in the subject line. Re: Listers We try to be politically correct because in this society, people are discriminated against for who they are and what they do; so it's kind of like ....training wheels for a bigotry-free society. In a society where there was no bigotry and people weren't put at a disadvantage because of who they are, ethnic and fat jokes might be funny. The reason they are not funny to the featured group is because too often there is a ring of truth in the disparagement, and the potential for greater harm done. So political correctness isn't just good manners; think of it as training the bigot in you and the bigots around you not to be discriminatory. I don't mean YOU PERSONALLY Celia, but yes you too- and me, and everyone. I don't think I've met anyone in my whole 38 years who doesn't have some bigotry about something.
