Hi!

My name is Shari and I've been on the induction plan since Wednesday morning,

so today is day #3.

All in all, I don't feel terribly rotten, but I'm still nervous as all get

out that I am going to have a stroke at any minute from all the animal fat I

am eating. (old habits die hard I guess?)

Anyway..I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer. How low is

TOO low for your blood sugar to be? I have never been diagnosed as

hypoglycemic or diabetic but I am almost positive that I am a hypo. (whether

I am a hypoglycemic or a hypochondriac is still in question..maybe some of

both) The old routine of eating something sugary and/or starchy to be able

to get up off the couch (burst of energy) and then crashing an hour or so

later was a ritual I went through several times a day every day until I

started with this WOE. My husband, OTOH, IS a diagnosed Type II diabetic so

he has a handy glucometer that I have been using these last few days to check

on my sugar level. (I'm the paranoid type ya know..absolutely positive that

my blood sugar is going to drop to a level where I just faint dead away LOL)

Last evening, it was 85 and this morning about 2 minutes after I woke up it

was 91. I am feeling like I want to check the level every hour so as to make

sure that it hasn't dipped to a God awful low number or something. How long

do you suppose it will take my body to regulate it's sugar level? If I don't

eat sugar, how in the heck is my body going to keep a high enough number?

Arghhh..I'm so confused!

Ok..enough whining..:) I think I already mentioned that my name is Shari. I

just turned 31 a few weeks ago, I have a great DH (who probably thinks I'm

nuts for trying Atkins but would never admit that) and I have two great sons

12 and 8 who are homeschooled. We live in the Columbia River Gorge in

Washington State and have two boxers and two cats.

SO..did anyone else have all these concerns when first starting out? If so,

how long did it take until your worries started to subside? I haven't

weighed yet so I don't know if I have lost anything. I have been hovering

between small and moderate trace on my ketostix. (which, by the way, I cannot

stop myself from using EVERY time I need to relieve myself) My energy level

isn't great yet, but it's certainly no worse than it was before I started

this. I had an awful headache Wednesday and Thursday..and so far it's only

mild today. By what day # did most of you start to feel good? I want so much

to say that I feel WONDERFUL!

Hanging in there!

Shari
