I'm new to this list, though not new to low carb. I figured I would just

jump in and answer your questions. I only test positive for ketosis in the

morning.. and usually then its between trace and small. Very few times have

I even got to moderate. However, in order for me to not be trace in the

morning, I have to either have a really big cheat (a bowl of ice cream, a

bowl of cereal) or have been going to about 60 carbs for more than 2 days.

When I go out of ketosis, if I am low carb the next day, I usually am back

in

ketosis within a day.

I have heard of many people that loose weight/inches while never achieving

ketosis. It is not necessary, but I think it definatly helps.

Don't forget though, that there will be plenty of times when you are in

Ketosis, and you don't loose. Expecially since you do not have that much to

loose. Just make sure that you do your best, and try to have the best menu

choices. And in my opinion, it is much better to " Cheat " with legal foods,

than with illegal ones.
