Guest guest
Carolyn, My mother in law had shoulder pain for two months before her death. She had become very bent over (almost 90 degrees) at her shoulders and neck. It was a position I couldn't duplicate if I tried. Her neck was really at a 90 degree angle to her shoulders and it happened in just a few weeks. Is this typical of CJD? Did anyone else have this symptom which I am told is common with advanced Parkinsons. We first noticed she was becoming more hunched over and wasn't picking up her feet much when she walked in mid August. By early September (she died in mid Nov.) she was bent at 90 degrees and complained of the shoulder pain that we assumed was related to her position--she could not straighten up. But the strange thing was that some days we could lightly massage her shoulders and neck and she enjoyed that, yet other days merely touching her skin in the same area caused her to scream in pain. Did this happen to anyone else's loved one? It was puzzling and I had forgotten it compared to the enormity of her other symptoms and in the pain of losing her.
