Guest guest
has been on flovent 1x a day since Jan. and started intal 2x a day mid Jan. Ever since then he has had symptoms again. In Dec, his endo came back with no eo's, that is why we cut back the flovent and were weaning to intal. Now will be having another endo on the 24th. I asked if he still should avoid all the foods he tested allergic to. The GI said we can slowly begin to introduce them. I also asked if may need to go onto a formula and not eat any food. He said it was possible. For those of you with kids or yourself on a formula, how was that decision made? Should be put on a formula if this next endo shows eo's again? Is there a soy free formula that tastes good or will he need a g tube? GI thinks the symptoms are from an allergy to one of the meds, or candidia infection, or slight chance of reflux. He doubts reflux because ph probe last summer was normal. Thanks for your help everyone. Cathy mom to 12, AS, EE, allergic to soy, nuts, peanuts, tomato, rice, carrot, string bean, kidney bean, orange, pear, onion, mustard seed, grape
Guest guest
Cathy, There are elemental formulas that are soy and milk free, such as Neocate, Elecare and Peptamen Jr. Peptamen Jr. probably tastes the best. The others may be flavored. We have tried all three and currently we are using Elecare. They are very expensive. Elecare is one that can be used through a gtube or you may drink orally. I am not sure about the others. , mother of Lizzie, 18 months, who is allergic to all milk, dairy, soy, tomato, citrus, spinach, oatmeal, and a host of other foods. dcjatben@... wrote: > has been on flovent 1x a day since Jan. and started intal 2x a day > mid Jan. Guest guest
Hi, Peptamen Jr has enzymatically hydrolized whey protein in it. I would be careful. It's not like the Neocate or Elecare. Also the proteins are only partly broken down. This formula is supposed to be used for easy digestion not for severe allergy.
