Guest guest
Hi everyone, Well last night was a real long one. We finally got settled in a PRIVATE room (YEAH) with his primary nurse around 4 am and Mike and I went to sleep (me on a cot and Mike in the car.......about 8 deg outside) and then we were up at 7 am for doc's and such. Spencer has no signs of any type of viral infection (ex: runny nose, cough, breathing problems) just a temp that goes up and down. From what we were told certain types of Staph Arias infections can take a while for them to kick in full action and thus the temp going up and down. Right now he is on Vaco 98 mg's Q 6 and a new drug (for us at least) called Rifampin 100 mg's Q 12. This morning his pediatrician, resident and the whole infectious disease team came in to see and evaluate Spencer. That is when they put him on Rifampin. They also called his GI, Dr. Putnam at Children's Medical Center of Cincinnati and he wants him down there ASAP. Unless overnight he gets severely unstable than we will have to regroup, but as it stands they have transfer papers written up for first thing tomorrow morning. We are trying to get into the Mc house (b/c we have no money really to get a hotel).....please pray that there is an opening tomorrow for us. What Dr. Putnam has in store for Spencer we are not sure, he just wants him down there ASAP. Like I said before, we have many tests scheduled for Feb 2nd and I believe he might want to get his IV line absolutely clear or have it replaced for fear of complication for his next surgery in Feb. I appreciate all of the support and kind words that have been said to us during this time......this is hospital stay number 43 and its becoming unbearable for Spencer and us. Thank you for all of the continued prayers. Mike will be coming down tomorrow with us and staying the weekend and I will have him keep you all updated and maybe give out some phone numbers if anyone wants to give a lonely scared mom a call. Once again, thank you for all of your prayers and thoughts! Love, Mike, and our sweet little Spencer
