Clayton's scope today - some answers not all

Clayton had his endoscopy and biopsies today and guess what MOMMY IS NOT

CRAZY. While his Nissan is intact, and no ulcers or esophageal hernias or

perforations there are several cuts in his stomach near the g-tube site

(actually the balloon). They are actually pretty raw (you can see them clearly

on the endoscopy pictures) and you can actually see them bleeding. THIS IS

WHAT IS CAUSING THE BROWN BLOOD AND THE RED BLOOD IN HIS TUBE. Apparently

5cc's of water in his balloon is too much for his little tummy when it is full

thus we need to try it now with 3 cc's. However, the GI thinks this is causing

some pain but not the doubling over pain. He thinks this is from his bowel and

constipation may be causing some of these problems. He thinks the Neocate is

the cause of the constipation -- again not that I do not trust him BUT I DO

NOT THINK SO. We are going to try Vivonex Pediatric formula through his g-tube

and see if this is less constipating. If not them this area needs to be

explored again as it obvious that he is in pain. He will continue to take

whatever little Neocate 1+ that he drinks by mouth (4-8 ounces a day) since he

will not drink the Vivonex by mouth. Hopefully we can start the Vivonex by

Friday.

Clayton handled the anesthesia well except of course he would not drink after

the procedure so the gave him some fluids through his g-tube and then we could

finally go.

All in all he is doing ok. They gave him some morphine after the procedure so

he is still sleepy and hopefully will sleep well tonight. At least I am glad

that it was nothing very serious (although I am now concerned about infection

- Can this happen from a cut in the stomach and what signs should I look for)

and that we did not have to be admitted.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and kind thoughts.

Love,

Sharon

issues and sensory integration disorder and now tremors. WHEN WILL THIS END)
