I totally disagree with your opinion. Gastrocrom has

been a god send for me and dealing with my EG. Maybe

your son hasen't been on it long enough. I was told it

took several months to really start working. I have

been on it for several years. If i miss a day of

gastrocrom - I take 8 amples 5 times a day - then my

EG worsens. I am not trying to come down on you I just

hate to see such a negative opinion on it. You

shouldn't tell people not to try it - it just might do

for them what it has done for me.

What is this B... med from Canada you were talking

about? What does it do for EG patients? Also, how old

is your son?

Have a good day,

ashley

{19 yr old with EG}

My son is 2 1/2 years old. He just doesn't have EG. He has EE, EG, EC,

dumping syndrome, Spastic stomach, Neuropathic motility disorder of the

small bowel, Chronic Intestinal Pseudo-Obstruction, allergies to everything,

malabsorbtion, severe asthma and now possible Hirshprungs disease.

The medication Budesonide is a steroid but it doesn't have the effects like

Prednisone or Prelone or Pediapred (you know all the names). It's not FDA

approved in the U.S.

I am not by any means telling anyone to not try it. Just giving my view on

the subject just like anyone else. I just say if it doesn't seem to work

than don't give it. Why give something that could possibly down the road

have terrible side effects.

BTW Spencer was on Gastrocrom for 6 months. It did nothing, absolutely

nothing. But Spencer is very unique, much like Steph and her kids. I do

have a very prestigious dr. that thinks that Gastrocrom does not work. (He

is not the one that put Spencer on it.)

Hello everyone,

My son (7) has been taking Gastrocrom for his

EE for 4 months now. He is having another scope/biopsy

in July. I will let you all know if things have

improved for him at all. Keep in mind that we have

yet to find any food allergies for him, and other

than the inflamation and eosinophils he is basically

symptom free. So for us the verdict is still out.

I'll keep you posted.

Is Derrik still eating all the foods he did before EE?

If Gastrocrom works for EE, I would be shocked. I know it has shown some

symptomatic improvement in EG, but I am not aware of ANY evidence that it

helps in EE.

Have you tried fluticasone therapy?
