Guest guest
I was so excited to read in the latest issue of Mayo Clinic Health Letter (June '99) that they recognized and listed RLS as a possible medical cause of fatigue! Kudos to Mayo Clinic! The health letter had a blurb on fatigue and in a highlighted box titled " When it's time to see your doctor " they explained that fatigue can be a symptom of illness. " In general, see your doctor if your fatigue is excessive or persists for several weeks. Medical causes of fatigue can include: ........ Restless legs syndrome (RLS) - This condition is characterized by an inability to keep your legs still and creeping or tingling sensations in your legs or arms. Symptoms can make it difficult to sleep. " While their description of RLS is rather tame, it was good to see it anyhow. The word must be getting out! RAINBOWPED@... Guest guest
Have any of you gone to the Mayo Clinic for diagnosis? If so, what was your experience? Any doctors you would recommend? My uncle (surgeon) has convinced me that I should go there for a 2nd opinion (even after going to National Jewish in Nov.), and to continue my quest for more answers. Many thanks, Kenny
Guest guest
--- Kenny, Alyssa is going to go to Jewish Institute some time in the next couple of months what can we expect? The GI said this is the BEST place to go to find out some answers, I will know next week what date but the thing that scares me is the dr said be prepared to be there at least 2 months? what will they do? I just don't want to put her through a lot but if they can fix this I can't say no. Thanks Tina
Guest guest
When my wife and I went to Mayo, Rochester, Minnesota for PD/PD+ second opinion it took about a 4 days . She was an out patient and stayed at a Motel/Hotel that was connected to the Clinic by underground or overhead ramps. let me know if I can give you more info. Hotel and meals were at our expense.
