Guest guest
(OREGON): When speaking about probable vCJD and a 14 year old. I suggest that media pressure can work wonders in forcing the hands of officials. I saw it with Mr Mckewans case and how officials here in Canada now realize the many mistakes they made here. Had it not been for publicity we as the public wouldn't of known what they were doing and that they were releasing the blood and not recalling it. Concerning blood donations and recalls and notifications..........Officially blood from a " classical " case of CJD is not recalled, it does NOT carry a warning label. This is for both USA and Canada. But the fractionaters decide whether they want to distribute the blood, legally they can. Bayer here in Canada does not distribute Factor 8, and 9 but releases all other Factors. When I talked with a Bayer representative he said it is because not enough is known about these factors to release it. Notifications these were done and have been done since 1995, till Sept, of 98 for USA and Dec of 98 for Canada. I believe as a recipient of one of these notifications that they shouldn't of been done. I have many reasons for this much too long for here.
