Guest guest
Hello: My daughter Lizzie has excema that is due to food allergies. She has been tested for everything and it all comes back negative. I breast fed her til 9 months. I started trying formulas and she either spit it up, broke out in a rash (exzema), had bad diarrhea and burning BMs. We tried eliminating things from her diet, milk dairy, soy, citrus, wheat and gluten and alot of other foods. It helped but she started loosing weight. At 12 months she was 19.5 pounds and at 15 months she was 19 pounds. The DRs put her on Elecare and she gained two pounds in 3 weeks. Now she is almost 18 months at 22 pounds but she is not quite walking. The developmental books say she should be walking and saying at least 15 words. Her word count is at 10 words. I am concerned about her development as well as.... The Elecare cost $45 a can and the can last three days, about $500 a month. Has any body had any luck getting insurance to pay for an elemental medical food such as Elecare, Neocate, Peptuamen Jr. If so what is your insurance company and what was in your request that persuaded the insurance company? Please I need help.... Thanks, mother of Lizzie
