Would you like to know if you were to get CJD even if the incubation

period were decades? I would, and that's why my blood was tested--thanks

to Brown!--for the most common genetic mutations associated with the

familial version of CJD. However, I believe many would NOT want to know

whether they will develop CJD, just as many choose not to find out if

they will die from Huntington's or other diseases, and I respect the

right of others to make a different choice and/or to express their

opinion about the pros and cons of testing.
