Guest guest
Hi ! Welcome to the group from another newbie! Atkins is a great way of life. My husband has been on it for the past year or so, and he has lost approximately 48 lbs. He loves the food and doesn't miss the sweets at all. If you knew how much he loved sweets, especially chocolate, you would know what an accomplishment this is. Pre-Atkins, a typical dessert for him would be a brownie, covered with a scoop of chocolate ice cream, smothered in chocolate sauce. Makes my teeth hurt just thinking about it! Anyway, today, he can walk right past the Baskin Robbins and not even think about sweets, and he doesn't miss them at all. So hang in there, it will get easier. I just started Atkins again after being off of the program for about three months. Good luck to both you and your husband, and remember, we're here for ya! P. Guest guest
Hello Gretchen, my big problem is that I cannot get my heels on the ground so that I walk and stand on my toes. Therefor I will have the tendon-lengthening. After the surgery I also will have to wear orthotic inserts. At the moment I have some inserts but they are the wrong ones. The transfer oft the other tendon should help lift up my feet. The doctor who will make the surgery told me that I can start walking the same day of the surgery. I will be in hospital for two weeks and after that I have to do walking-training with my physiotherapist. After three months all will be healed but the feet could be swollen for about 6 months. At the moment I don't know if this timetable will come true but it does not matter if it will take longer as long as my walking will be better one day. And I hope so because sometimes I get really angry when people on the street look on my feet while I am walking. And they look very often!! Gretchen Glick schrieb: > > > WELCOME !
