Thanks a bunch for the responses to my panic attack yesterday!

I know that iel does have reflux in addition to the allergic issues, but

both GI and Allergist think we should have had better improvement on prilosec (

scope went from severe to moderate, and was still active in mid and upper

esophagus), they were convinced before this scope that he had never had true

reflux, but the pediatrician, pulmonary doctor and I all thought differently.

The ph probe showed that acid was fully managed on prilosec, and I'm not willing

to talk about a Nissen at this point. iel doesn't have enough foods that

don't make him actively sick to live on, even aside from the " hidden' symptom of

esophagitis. so elemental diet was the right decision. He is gaining, he isn't

chronically complaining of his tummy hurting the way he did, I'm just not sure

we have him as good as he can get before we start trying to go back and add

food. He has been really sick with a lot of viruses that last two months, so

its hard for me to

see him as healthy, although it may be his environmental allergies, meds, and

viral illnesses are the cause of the remaining symptoms I see.

Thanks again,

Vicki, mom to iel, age 4, EE/EG? lots of allergies, asthma, reflux?
