Guest guest
Kelsey, Great new for you. Good luck and I hope you keep feeling great. (mommy to Karson) [eosinophilic gastroenteritis] bye Hi everyone! Since all my test results came back fine my GI says all my probs (migraines, GERD, stomach something or the other, depression, sleep disorders) are from stress, which sounds like a plausible andswer, IF I didn't have the many test results to back up a physical problem. No eos this time at all. I still have tons of probs so I am going to a new doc at a university in 2 weeks. Since I don't really have EE or EG and they won't put me back on a formula I decided to vacate the list for a bit. Depending on what this doc says I might be back. Thanks for all your help. Hope things continue to go well for those of you getting answers and problems solved, and hang in there for those who are still searching! Hug all the kiddies for me and I'll keep you all in my prayers. Feel free to e-mail me at mcnutt22@... if there's ever anything I can do. luv ya, Kelsey ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get paid for the stuff you know! Guest guest
I am wondering about Dr. Bye still. I heard he has a saterlite office out here by me. I just want to find out particulars, i.e. where would they be admitted, etc. Is Bye a good diagnostian? Does he listen to parents? How is he with kids? How old? I can't go through another one retiring - can't handle too much change this year..... Thanks. Rosemary in New York with 3 children with CF - they are 12, 10, 6...I coined the phrase " BREATHE DAMMIT " ; and now we have a dog named - are you ready for this - TOBI after their medication! Guest guest
Rosemary, Dr. Bye is a " no-bullshit " kinda guy... you show up, he takes you in (on time ALWAYS) and asks you how you're kid's been. This " nonchalance " has been the " tough " part of his personality to figure out. Being that I'm still adjusting to having a kid with CF, I honestly EXPECTED him to flood me with ALL info and discoveries regarding new treatments and medications for CF; and frankly, for the first twelve visits in twelve months to his (NYC) office, I was disappointed when I left and I thought I was not in capable hands. When Jack first cultured Staph and Klebsiella , I silently cursed him for not medicating my kid. In retrospect, I have never felt so ignorant.... ....Since joining this list I have realized that having a kid (or " kids " in your case) with CF is far from a PASSIVE life order. It's up to us, as the parents, to do our research, listen and learn from other parents, read, and THEN ask the questions of our kid's doctors. Please, please call ()/write me if you have any other questions about Columbia. As far as I know, Bye's no longer seeing patients at Valley in Ridgewood, but HAS picked up satellite locations in Northern NJ (call his main number at for locations-- I THINK they're in Teaneck and/or Tenafly). PS-- CF kids seen at Columbia's CF Center are (if needed) be admitted to Columbia Presbyterian Children's Hospital at 178th and Broadway-- VERY accessible via the GW and Tappan Zee Bridges, Holland and Lincoln Tunnels Re: Bye > I am wondering about Dr. Bye still.
