Guest guest
Has anyone ever had their child drink peptamen jr.? We may try on peptamen for a while and then rescope in the hopes of determining if food allergies are indeed the cause of his EE. (he has never tested positive for any foods, and has no other symptoms besides inflamtion of esophagus). I am just trying to arm myself with as much info as possible before our appt. with GI on Monday. TIA,
Guest guest
, I would NOT recommend Peptamin. It is not purely amino acid based. The ONLY two formulas " approved " for this kind of trial is Elecare and Neocate. Elecare is cheaper and made in the US by Ross. Steph. [eosinophilic gastroenteritis] peptamen jr. >From: garyarm@... > >Has anyone ever had their child drink peptamen jr.? > >We may try on peptamen for a while and then >rescope in the hopes of determining if food allergies >are indeed the cause of his EE. Guest guest
I second Steph; never tolerated peptamen either. I gave it up within a week. We are on Neocate now too. Guest guest
Order from the pharmacy. Just go in and see if they can order it for you or look up the Nestle Website and call them. Based on income and doctor's note they can work with you on a price. We paid $150 for a six day supply (5 cans per day) this was a case that we ordered. We are presently using it unflavored because we are giving it by G-tube so taste isn't an issue. It may come in other flavors but I'm not sure Maloy Peptamen Jr. Thanks to all for your replies to my Boost Drink question! I've never heard of Peptamen Jr. before. Is it very similiar to Pediasure when it comes to tastes and nutrition facts? Where can I get it? Thanks again! Bo
Guest guest
It comes in unflavored and in vanilla. We too use unflavored since it is going through a gtube. Maloy, if your daughter is on a tube, why isn't your insurance paying for it? got his gtube 6/02 and we haven't paid for 1 can of formula yet. Our health insurance covers 100% of enteral supplies.
