Guest guest
From Terry/MADSON: flounder@...> -- , Very interesting and VERY scarey.........I just think anbiotics are distributed to freely, for things not necessary. In the case of the cows, it's simply " GREED " . In the case of people, some doctors will give out antibiotics like candy..........and that's also part of the problem////////
Guest guest
Terry- A friend of mine, an emergency room doctor, told me one time that only two things actually CURE illness- surgery and antibiotics. Everything else, he felt, dealth with symptoms and left the healing to the natural defenses of the body. To a certain extent, I agree. Unfortunately, antibiotics DO make cows heavier faster. Unfortunately, antibiotics DO often make ear infections in little kids go away. (And which doc would refuse antibiotics to a crying child's mother? Interestingly, CDC employees are among those who demand antibiotics for their kids even when they know the bug is viral, i.e. a cold, per an article I read recently.) I agree that antibiotics in cows should be banned. Beef should be a delicacy, not a staple. So what if it's more expensive? So what if the average family can't afford to eat beef every day? $.99 Whoppers? Who needs 'em? Cattle produce the most ozone-depleting gasses, too. We should be banning beef farming, not subsidizing and protecting it. AAARRRGGGHH!
