Guest guest
Are you saying that your dad's autopsy slides showed that although he did not have the nvCJD from eating infected British beef that he could have had cjd from eating infected USA beef. I am of the understanding that any of the CJD caused by eating meat has the same effects on the biopsy slides and that the other kinds, or type I kinds, have a different look. That is, that they are caused from other than eating meat. Which is it? does anyone know. It would be very important to differentiate between type I and type II. That would narrow the field in how they could have contracted it. Dr. Gambetti told me that there had not been any cases of the type II in America so far. I know this is questionable due to the number of cases possibly misdiagnosed to begin with. Either type I and type II are different or they are not. Until we know some of these answers how could they possibly find a cure? Carolyn W.
