Guest guest
Howdy, I just joined this list. I've corresponded with Jill already via her website and she recommended I write an intro. I'm 44 years old, married and mother of 2, live in Oregon and have had RLS ever since I can remember. I kicked the bed at night to get to sleep as a child. I was always restless and getting into trouble for it. I have pretty much just learned to live with it, but I know I should do something about it as I get older and it gets worse. So now I'm just trying to learn about the treatments available. I'm having a hard time assimilating all the information, and will just have to take it slowly, because I have several other problems as well and have burned out somewhat on trying to find solutions to everything. I'm thinking some of my other problems might be related to the RLS and vice versa. One of the things I've been diagnosed with is fibromyalgia. I have been having severe right foot and leg pain lately. I've had the pain for years, but it's just getting really bad the past few months. I would be interested in hearing from others who have actual pain with a description of it. It's really fun (I guess that sounds kind of perverse!) to hear everyone describing the RLS and knowing that you share this with me. I know of nobody else who has this and have been treated like I'm crazy whenever I've tried to describe it in the past. The way I tried to describe it was that it felt like I had an itch from the inside and there was no way to scratch it. I think with all the other problems I have that I also have feared being labeled a hypochondriac and so I just don't talk about it anymore. I look forward to being a part of this group. Guest guest
Welcome to our group, Dale. I have greatly benefited in the past month from the wealth of experience and information that is shared on this list. Also, I have experienced somewhat of a camaraderie " under the skin " so to speak. I know the feeling of people thinking you are crazy. My wife thinks I'm nuts. She can't understand a problem that supposedly has no apparent underlying organic cause. I can't either, but I live with it every night! At least we've got somewhere to " go " when we're up pacing around at night. Jeff P. Colo. Spgs. CO Will wrote: > > > > Howdy, I just joined this list. Guest guest
Welcome to the group Dale. I have found it to be a tremendous comfort, in dealing with this dreadful syndrome. Good luck, and it's nice to have you here. Elaine, Malibu
Guest guest
If you like Designer, stick with Designer. The amount of protein is all pretty close. The mfrs change the scoop size for marketing purposes. 1 sc of PC = 2 skimpy sc of Designer. Same, same. Use the one you LIKE.. And stick with 30g per serving. Much more is a waste of $$$ Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. I had my first normal glucose serum blood test 2 weeks ago, since November! YEAH! . I feel great, my energy level is up and I'm enjoying being happy once again. I have Australian Cattle Dogs and Border Collies, which I use for livestock work and occasionally conformation shows. Now that I'm at a better weight (and getting better!), I'm actually looking forward to my annual 4 day circuit of dog shows. Last year I almost had to have someone else show my ACD female, because my endurance, knees, ankles and health to be quite frank: sucked! I have lost approx. 36 pounds, and now work my dogs about 3 days a week and have been showing again in conformation. As you can tell, my dogs are a big part of my life--and something I can again enjoy without the excess weight I've been lugging around! I began Curves on May 1st and really enjoy it. I've already noticed the last 2 times, I actually am feeling more endurance and can handle the work out better! I live near Riverside, CA and there are lots of Curves around--they seem to all have lots of women going there. I have been doing ok, no serious food cravings, and have been able to hold down all of the things I've tried with no nausea or upchucking so far. My biggest problem though, is a fear of new foods. I try to stick to fish, chicken breasts, small shrimp, and the occasional pasta or mashed potatos. I have had peanut butter once. At almost 8 weeks out, I'm doing ok but wondering when do I start actually eating food again? I am going to check out the protein samples, as the current protein powder I have is just plain and simple--GROSS! The smell of it just turns me off, however I get in 2 servings a day of it. I do have to sneak up on it, and can't smell it or it takes me an hour! I don't know if it's ok the way I do it but here goes: I mix it with about 1 3/4 oz of water and shake it up and take it like shots in a little medicine cup--then follow it with a Crystal Lite chaser. I handle it fine, but it's just got the absolute worst after taste. Oh......the name is Pro Complex, in the strawberry. I did ok on the Designer Whey strawberry, but do like the amount per scoop of the Pro Complex. I also try to get in my water, but it's not easy as I hate water and get so busy sometimes I forget to keep sipping. Oh well, there's the long and short of it. Frick 7.5 weeks / 36 pounds gone forever!
