Jill, I dont know the answer to most of your questions, but

the terms to differentiate meds you take when needed and

meds you take all the time are: PRN means take as needed.

qid, bid, tid, etc mean you take them so many times a day.

I would also say assume if you take a drug on a regular

basis not to stop altogether unless you check with your

doctor and he says it is fine. Just a safety rule of thumb.
