RLS: Sleep deprivation and resultant nervous disorders

Hi there.

I read somewhere someone here mentioned Fibromyalgia as being caused by

lack of sleep.

In all the years I have been battling insomnia (at least to some extent

due to RLS), I have noticed that the longer I go without decent sleep,

the more physiological panic/anxiety disorder-like symptoms I seem to

exhibit. Like palpitations, buzzing/tangling fingers, weak arms and

legs, constricted breathing (feeling like I am not getting enough air),

lack of concentration, derealizaton/depersonalization, general

spaceyness etc. The classic anxiety portfolio. In the past,

psychiatrists have treated me for anxiety as the root cause.

So I notice still to this day, if I cut back on RLS medication, my sleep

gets real *crappy* (a good medical term for ya), and after a few days, I

am buzzing and banging and feeling like I want to die.

I wonder what other physical maladies (besides the obvious of being

exhausted and crabby!) are caused by chronic insomnia...
