Subject: Re: new member intro In a message dated 98-10-29 10:08:35 EST, you write: << I have been having severe right foot and leg pain lately. I've had the pain for years, but it's just getting really bad the past few months. I would be interested in hearing from others who have actual pain with a description of it. >> Hi, Dale, and welcome to our group which slowly is getting larger and larger because more and more people are finding out about us and realizing that they are experiencing the same things that we are. Concerning your foot and leg pain, I started out with leg pain and was given a prescription for Ultram, which provided considerable relief. After a while, though, the pain began to get worse, and Neurontin was added. Then the foot pain began. I am still taking these two meds, and although I am still experiencing pain, it is much worse when I forget to take the meds on a fairly regular schedule. As to your request for a description of the pain, it feels like I just hurt right down to the bone, with the foot pain being the worst problem. Sometimes I just massage whichever foot is hurting, but I also have a foot massager that I use a lot. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Dale, Welcome to the group and a fine one it is because of all its caring members. I too have started with the pain, I think it may be one of the next stages of rls. Mine comes in a couple of types. The first is the severe pain striking where ever it chooses for the day and the cramps which are uaually in the legs and hands, but on some occasions it has been an all over body cramp, even the organs. My doc gave me percocet and darvocet to choose from when the pain is starting. Taking either one of these usually will at least curb the strength and duration. If I wait too long and let the pain get a hold of me nothing works. I hated to add another durg to my arsonel of meds but the cramps had me held in a ball for an hour or so. I know we all act differently to different meds, but getting everyones remedy helps to know what works----sometimes. Lee
