Jeannie and Mr. Briggs,

I have raised many dogs in my life time and I feel males are easier to train

than females. The last dog we got (and still have) we crate trained. I

thought I sounded crule at first but I wouldn't go back to anyother way now.

When you first get your puppy keep him in his crate all the time that you are

not actively playing with him or taking him on pottie runs (about every half

hour) and stop the water after dinner. We kept our crate in the living room

so he knew where we were and we could talk to him, but unless he whinned or

otherwise indicated he needed to go out he sayed in there. It is amazing that

dogs won't go the the bathroom in their den so he will deffinenely let you

know when he wants out, unfortunately this encludes in the middle of the night

(rain or shine) I think it took just about a couple of weeks of this and he

was completely house broken. He now sleeps on the bed when he can get away

with it. Even though we have a king sized bed and my husband is over six

feet, a man, a woman and a Doberman make for a tight fit.

Hope this helped

Lee
