Guest guest
Dear Group, If anyone knows of a neurologist that knows about rls at one of the military hospitals in Baltimore or Washington, please let me know. Either Walter , Bethesda Hosp. or s Hosp. I have access to a shuttle bus out of Dover AFB hospital which is 50 miles from where I live. I'm a 65 year old female that has had restless legs as long as I can remember, but it's gotten worse as I get older. It is with me 24 hrs. a day now. I believe it's even in my stomach. My legs feel like there is a vibration creeping and then the vibration grabs, and I can time when the next one is coming. I'm constantly tensed to the very limit, The only time I can get any relief other than walking or staying busy on my feet, is when I do about 20 deep knee bends. At night, if I don't fall asleep during the time I'm exhausted from the knee bends, then I'm miserable until I can do them again (that's hard on a 65 year old with arthritis). I haven't had a good nights sleep, without waking up several times. If I had to be confined to a wheelchair I would go crazy. It would be better to be paralyzed from the waist down than to have that claustrophobic feeling of not being able to get up and walk or kick. So far no doctor has been able (or really tried very hard) to help me. I've tried Sinemet and Baclafin together, Klonopin, Neurontin. Nothing has helped yet. I'm just praying I'll get some help through this support group. Thanks for listening.
