Guest guest
Elaine As you wrote, Soma can cause insomnia and really isn't a very good muscle relaxant. It can also cause depression. Soma is not a very popular drug these days. Opioids typically cause a superficial type of sleep from which the subject is easily aroused. This effect varies with the age of the patient, the reason for taking the drug and the type of opioid. Dr. Levin
Guest guest
Re taking Soma, I have noticed that many of us also have some mild apnea symptoms (probably anyone who had a sleep study has that diagnosis). Well my experience with Soma is as follows. The neurologists ask me to take it three times a day (for should and arm pain from my neck), and to keep with it for at least two weeks to see if it would help. Well it did help my muscle and arm pain, but I snored like a truck driver (appoligies to any truck drivers), and I slept even worse. Some much for my trial of Soma. By the way, when I was off of it a friend at work stated, gee, you have your personality back. I am sure the combination of it and Xanax that I was taking significantly worsened my apnea/hyponea problem. Jo from Mo (55)
