Guest guest
Barb, I have noticed lumps in my legs during an RLS attack too, but they go away when my legs are relaxed again. Also, the lumps are always in the same place. I figure that since they go away, they are not a concern. But I've also thought that it might be a clue to what's going on, if I knew exactly what those lumps were. Can our medical professionals answer this one for us? > >My daughter for the last couple of days has been massaging my calves >and has noticed small lumps. Guest guest
Barb The fact that the " lumps " go away leaves me with the two choices of muscle and veins. In trying to relieve the " feelings " in your legs, you could be causing the muscles to " knot up " . When you stop, they relax and the lumps disappear. The other possibility is that muscular contractions could put external pressure on deep veins in your legs and cause them to dilate at points of weakness and become palpable. When the muscle tension relaxes, the veins can then drain normally and the lumps disappear. Dr. Levin
