Guest guest
Hi Tina, I am so glad this works out for you.Enjoy it, don't wait for the next attack, if it comes you'll be notified so sleep what you can! Since my little niece went home again I didn't have a parrot over here. Is is indeed very quiet at the moment, at the screen I mean, not in my legs. Guest guest
Well, first of all, I've not received any postings at all today and probably none yesterday. Last one I saved was on the " clinical depression " thread authored by Dr. Levin. Anyway, on to the semi-good news. My neurologist has been ditched by me!!!!! Why, I ask you all, why do a sleep study so he can write the info down in the file at the teaching hospital when it is totally unnecessary to diagnose RLS????? Besides I didn't want to pay the $1,000.00 deductible for my insurance in November when it will go back up to the $1,000.00 deductible again in January. (Isn't that pathetic.) My PODIATRIST who is a wonderful man wrote me a prescription for Mirapex ..125 mg 3 times a day. Miracles can happen and I think one just did. It's been two weeks now and have been pretty much symptom free during the day, evening and night. I've only had little episodes in Church of all places. Had to sit still and you know what that does............ I realize that I may have to increase the dose after a while but since I've experienced no side effects so far I don't see any reason to worry. I asked a relative of ours who is a pharmacist about the drug and he said it is usually prescribed as a second drug for Parkinsons (I was worried that if I ever got Parkinsons I would be immune to Mirapex) and that it wouldn't make me immune. So, now I take 100 mg zoloft in the morning .5 Xanax three times a day .125 Mirapex three times a day and sleep like a baby - fall asleep like someone hit me over the head with a 2x4 - and don't have the creepy crawlies all day long either. I call this semi-good news only because I am too afraid to enjoy this feeling. It is like I am just waiting for another attack and that I'll go right back to the same awful creepy crawlies. But, I've got to think positively. My Podiatrist also recommended a Taoism self healing book by Chang. I ordered it but have not had the opportunity to read it. BTW it has come to my attention that this list posts most often at night and an African Grey Parrot list I am on posts most often in the mornings. This is interesting. Anyone out there have any parrots and RLS beside me? Sorry this is so long but I haven't heard from you all for days and have missed you boo hoo. Why should you feel guilty? Be grateful that you have finally found some respite from the RLS monster. We should all be so fortunate! Enjoy the moment because as we all know, the RLS creature loves to play games with us - it likes to take away just when we think we got it figured out, eh? RLS loves to make us pay for our small successes, if you know what I mean. , 516 months, Earth RAINBOWPED@...
