Guest guest
Yo, After reading the text of the conference I have got to say that Dr. , although a very bright and gifted physician, was off the mark twice. First he said that RLS/PLMS doesn't cause " clinical depression " and he also said that arthritis has not been linked to RLS. BULL, as a matter of fact, Rheumatoid arthritis is very closely related to RLS. Hey, don't get me wrong, I thought the Chat thing was a good, but I needed to get in my two cents in case anyone has a family member with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Guest guest
Hi Ed, he actually said RLS or lack of sleep or chronic illness can cause a depression, but a reactive one, not a clinical one.Due to circumstances is a reactive depression, and he is right about that. Rheumathoide arthritis can occur with RLS, and if an irritation of the spinal chord is caused by the RA it could be a link, but you can't say they are closely related if it is not proven, not say " as a matter of fact " if you just think they are because of a few cases. Guest guest
Marleen, I still think that something causing depression oo just having clinical depression with no known cause is like the splitting of " medical hairs. " Nothing doesn't not cause depression, it is always something, even if the appears to be unknown. As far as arthritis, specifically, rheumatoid arthritis, there is definitely a high correlation between this and RLS. Many RLS sufferers have had family members with Rheumatoid and no RLS. Check it out, the data is available. Ed-Cybberphilly
