Guest guest
Please remove me from the list .. . . . Greetings Everyone, I'm leaving the group after 3 great months, and wanted to say thanks to everyone who's been so helpful to me. Right now, thanks to permax/mirapex/and unemployment(allows sleeping in, great for me), I've managed to get my PLM's under control... in fact, my RLS has been greatly reduced. It took 2 weeks of decent sleep before the changes started, but the more sleep I got... the more symptoms went into remission. I've always had RLS, but the PLM's of the last year and a half have been intolerable. It all started after a very long bout w/ insomnia... so it makes sense that good sleep ( along w/ drug rotations/holidays) ended up being the best cure I could ask for. I would never have had a chance if it wasn't for the group, Dr Levin, and the rest of the restless. Thank you all, and best wishes towards a sleepy solution! Andy Baugh, 36... Personally, I have believed for some time that RLS/PLMD, insomnia and anxiety are all part of the same three headed monster. It seems it's a chicken-and-egg question of what comes first. I think we've all experienced the insomnia->anxiety->RLS->insomnia... cycle. Perhaps we focus too intently on a small portion of the problem to the neglect of the whole. I'm not implying that RLS/PLMD has no underlying organic cause all its own... seems to be a delicate balance between organic and environmental causes... Just thinking out loud... I've always had RLS, but the stressful lifestyle I had in addition to a long bout of insomnia led to my severe PLM's. I'm still amazed how long it took for me to get a good nights worth of sleep once my system went out of wack. For what it's worth, I go to bed between 2 and 4 am these days, and sleep in 'til noon... so I'm not sure what will happen when I get another job. But I don't sleep if I go to bed at normal times... so I guess I'm not cured yet, but am enjoying the sleep I do get greatly! Good Luck!
