I've never met Mrs. though I feel I know her through her book. I wept

when I read your message and am praying for her present comfort and eventual

recovery. I pray also for her good husband. I've been in his shoes with a

terribly ill spouse and in her shoes with struggles with medical personnel. My

cardiologist told me to bring along my RLS medications too when I went in for my

bypass surgery only to have it yanked away and told that it wasn't on the charts

(at the very moment right after surgery that the RLS was raising its' ugly

head). I've written before about what ensued. I wouldn't want ANYONE to go

through that. Why didn't her doctor instruct the medical personnel instead of

telling her husband to do so? Why didn't my cardiologist see to it that it was

written in the charts?

Perhaps this is a wake up call to the rest of us to ensure that if or when we

are in a like situation such a thing won't happen. God forbid that one of us

should find ourselves helpless in a rehab or nursing home and be refused our

medication because " it isn't on the chart " .

Again, my heart truly goes out to the s.
