Guest guest
Hello everyone, I've recently joined the group. My name is and I first experienced RLS symptoms about 28 years ago and it has gotten worse as I have aged. I have been on many meds over the years and some have caused additional problems. Some have worked but only for a while. I'm currently taking one 50mg Ultram in the evening and it works great. The only side effect I have noticed is a slightly reduced appetite. Since Ultram is relatively new to me, I don't know what the long-term effect will be. I have been taking it for about four months now and it still works. Occasionally, I'll feel the symptoms starting earlier so I will take it earlier and the symptoms are gone in about 30 minutes. I feel lucky that this works so well for me. I attend a monthly RLS support group in Orlando, Fla. - our medical advisor, Dr. Elaty, told me about this medicine and it has worked for me. Are any of you taking Ultram for RLS ? I've tried many alternative therapies including NLP but have had limited success. In desperation, I've tried some ridiculous and bizarre experiments on myself. MD's have been my only source of relief so far. You are very fortunate to have Dr. Levin in the group. An update on Virginia : Jack, her husband, called me an hour ago and the news is not good. She's still in intensive care and has shown little sign of improvement. She is still semi-conscious and is sedated and Jack tells me that for her RLS she is now taking only Mirapex, per her doctor; she's unable to take Sinemet. She is still in great discomfort and Jack says he is still disappointed that her doctors are not telling him much. They have taken her off of oxygen and Jack said that she is doing ok without it. Jack is coming to terms with the situation, he told me that things just don't look good and the prognosis is not good. Jodi: I gave Jack your message and he is grateful. I also told him that there are many of us out here that are praying for her. 50, Florida
