Guest guest
Hello Alisha........You sound as if you if have learned what most of us with CMT have learned, that is, to cope as best we can. We just keep trying things until we find what works for us. You sound like a little sweetheart to me, and I'm sure your parents are very proud of how you have adjusted to this problem we all have in common. Keep up the good work.....................Bill On Mon, 03 Jan 2000 10:56:59 EST " Alisha Peckham " fivertherabbit@...> writes: > > > hello donna alisha here, > i use a walker for mobility. i can walk its just that i get really > tired and > sometimes i collasp then i need to use a wheelchair for a while > after my > legs aree rested and i can move them. since i am 16 yrs old and in > school i > have a basket on mine and i put my things in the basket. i then sit > my > backpack on the seat and go on. it is easy to fold and carry only 11 > > pounds!!! i just love it. my physio got it for me and it works > wonders. my > grandfather id in his 70's and uses several types on walkers to get > around > plus a scooter and just walking. he has really bad CMT and he has > otheer > devices to help him around the level of the house. their house has > at least > 4 stories but his bedroom is on the same level as the kitchen, > bathroom and > everything else needed. they also have a lift to get off the porch > to the > garage. when my grandfather was younger and able to work he was a > farmer and > worked for many many years. other older family members use > wheelchairs and > walkers b/c they aree badly affected. i hoope this helps and i > didn't bore > anyone! > > ---------------------------
