Guest guest
Jill, I enthusiastically bought a Thumper after members raved about it. But I just couldn't use it - my legs are just much too sensitive. It actually felt TERRIBLE to me, can you imagine? I was so disappointed, as I had my hopes up, as with every new thing I try, hoping and praying for some relief. But since you tried it in the store and it felt GREAT to you, then it should help you alot. As for the price -- yes, it's high, but if it helps consistently, it's a small price to pay. Put it on your Christmas list!!! Hope you got all your shopping done! Blessings, Charlene/48/Nashville
Guest guest
Hey Guys!!!! I was in a tone store last weekend and they had a Thumper out on the counter for people to try. OHHHHHH MY GOD!!!!!! It was fantastic!!!! For those who are new in the group...we've had quite a discussion over these. It's a VERY heavy and powerful hand-held vibrator device, but it doesn't vibrate sideways. It has two rounded areas the pump up and down and literally thump your muscles. It's VERY expensive. I think this was somewhere between $210-$240...can't remember. I resisted buying one when people in the group were raving about them. But now, I'm thinking...hmmmmm, if someone asks for a wish list...I'm definitely putting this on it. (Those of you who have them and are using them...you might just drop a line to the group, saying you have one...just in case someone wants to ask you questions about it.) My legs were sore from walking the malls...my foot was hurting from the toe injury I have (from clogging too much)...and so, I just stood there, with no pride, in the store, and used that Thumper on my thighs and calves. Ohhhhhh, was it nice. I didn't buy it, because my husband reminded me that we bought a VERY strong heavy-duty vibrator from Sharper Image about 10 years ago and never use it. So, we came home and tried the one we'd bought. NOT THE SAME!!!!! That pounding action of the Thumper is really different. I know I saw a similar one, not a Thumper but one that used the up and down motion, in another store and for MUCH cheaper...but I couldn't tell you if it would work as well, and I can't remember where I found it. Point is. If you have muscle tightness with your RLS....check out this type of vibrator...the kind that sends up and down motions to your body, rather than just vibrating back and forth. I KNOW the Thumper would be great. I'm just not sure you can't find the same thing for less. Well..I'm off to find my wish list and a rich relative. Guest guest
Charlene: You should sell the Thumper that you cannot use at a reduced rate to Jill. That should help both of you. I do benefit from the use of my Thumper. When my RLS rears its ugly head I know that the Thumper will ease the symptoms for a while. However, since the Mirapex (THANK YOU AGAIN DR. LEVIN), I have been for the most part symptom free. The weather turned from 70 degrees and sunny to 47 degrees and raining today...needless to say, my RLS began the minute I opened my eyes in the morning. I called my podiatrist and he recommended that on days like today when I know that the barometer will make my RLS act up to take .25 mg for that morning/afternoon or day. I did and " POOF " the creepy feelings were put to rest once again. But, anyway, I do give a thumbs up for the Thumper - it feels great between the neck and shoulders where I am stiff from so much time on this computer.
