Guest guest
Welcome Jack! Glad you are here! In my experience podiatrists were not as well trained as MD's when it comes to my feet. As long as I am on my feet, standing or walking for long periods, they are going to hurt. I had surgery once when I was 11. I always managed to do everything, sometimes even more than non-CMT friends, despite the (sometimes) horrible foot pain. I have had to learn to pace myself, and keep chairs close by and to rest. My CMT is mild, so I am told. But I have had it forever. I would like to suggest perhaps you get a couple of opinions on the surgery, that's what I would do. Now for the foot pain and also wierd " electrical " jolting pain I take Neurontin and that has helped greatly. Gretchen
