Moggy;

I do understand your concern about having children with CMT; That decision was

made for me with out my knowledge of my CMT. I had two more children at age 35

and 37 and found out I had CMT at age 40. I just found out my youngest daughter

has CMT1X as I do, and in process to confirm I have also passed to my son,

(CMT1X linked to son from mother and Father to daughter) my middle child. If I

had known of my CMT, I would have chose not to have children but whether this

would have been the best thing or not is hard to tell! (Since after 13 yrs I'd

given up on having more children and got pregnant not planning to; I believe

maybe I didn't know about my CMT for a reason and God felt it best to have my

children when I did) For my two youngest children are such a joy and pleasure

and keep me going. They help me a great deal and are wonderful blessing to me

and my husband. And with me having CMT, I hope to be able to help them through

theirs.

All who have CMT aren't severe, even within the same family. Knowing early on

can help sometimes if you learn to work with your body, eat right foods and rest

when you need it.

If you have been tested for CMT and don't show signs at your age, depending on

the type your family has. . . . you may not be a carrier to pass the gene on.

Children are very wonderful to have in your life and though you would not want

them to suffer I think it is fair to say that most of us who have CMT or

otherwise, aren't sorry we were born and many of us think it has made us better

people in some ways.

I'll be praying for you to be able to make the best decision for you and God

Bless you either way.
