Kitty, I have been taking Mirapex and Klonopin for several months

now and have had to gradually increase Mirapex from .125 to .50

or .75 at night along with an increase of .5 to 1 mg of

Klonopin. I was getting to the panic stage because this wasn't

working and I was dreading the evening and going to bed. I would

take supplemental vitamins or Vicodin or Darvocet or Tylenol

#3--anything to get the legs and arms to settle down. The large

doses of Mirapex were giving me headaches and I was having

insommnia.

My neruo told he there was a new neuro coming to town and he knew

more about RLS and he was referring me to him. So I went. New

neuro is from UCLA and specializes in sleep stuff. He was

concerned about the amounts of meds I was taking and I said I

was, too. He told me that instead of taking all of the Mirapex

at bedtime, take .25 early in the evening and then .5 at

bedtime. Well, it worked. I now spread it out and I haven't had

panics at night for several nights now because just another .25

has worked along with .5 of Klonopin. I haven't needed the

additonal .25 of Mirapex at night. Spreading it out kept the

Mirapex in my system more evenly and really helped and I don't

need as much Klonopin, either, thank goodness.

He wants to do a sleep study. He spent almost an hour with me.

That impressed me. I get back with ya'll after I have the sleep

study. Hang in there, Kitty.
