This may be non-RLS but the subject is sure to give ANYONE the fidgets. I

applaud both Ninette and Lindy just for having the guts and love to BE

teachers in this difficult world.

There's no getting around it, our children are faced with a civilization

that has become progressively more violent, not only with the blasted TV and

movies, mall arcades etc. but in the example so many of us adults project.

They are faced with almost impossible peer group pressures too at a time in

their life where they are most vulnerable. Along with all this the ACLU has

seen to it that basic moral principles have been erased from their lives

because those principles have a scriptural basis. Look at that Judge who

has had to endure so much to keep the ten commandments posted on the wall of

his courtroom. Many schools don't know that under the law their students

are free to form Bible study groups just the same as the freedom to form any

other group in school outside of school hourson school grounds. School

boards and administrations in many schools forbid anything that has a tinge

of religion in it (baccalaurettes?) for fear of legal entanglements.

With both parents having to work to just keep their heads above water they

are now being called to task for not being there for their kids. This is

unjust in most cases. I was a working mother because we would have been on

the dole otherwise. My children understood that and were marvelous in

helping out. We are still very close although they are grown and on their

own. We attended church no matter what else had to be done on the weekend

and discussed our beliefs at home with our Bibles right at hand. And I made

sure I knew where they were and who they were doing it with. It wasn't easy

and there were slip-ups along the way and I thank God that it all turned out

okay.

I do think that parents have to be lovingly vigilant with their children who

are priceless treasures. They are, after all, our living immortality. They

must know, without reservations, that they are loved, that we will always

be there for them. Parents must work closely with the schools and in

particular the teachers who, I must insist, do not exist to be baby-sitters

and substitute parents.

We indeed do have an awful problem in this country. Folks are becoming

alarmed about letting their children attend regular school. Many are

pulling their children out to home school them. This is fine but it doesn't

correct the problem.

One thing the legal liberals have not yet been able to do is to remove " In

God We Trust " from our currency. We should put our minds and hearts where

our money is and return to the foundations of our country. This was a

country formed specifically " Under God " . If we forget that our country is

surely doomed.

I wish I could end with Cheers............
