Guest guest
Hi, I have cmt x-linked. Our family pattern is the following: My Grandpa and all his brothers have cmt. Theirs sisters don' t show any signs of cmt but one of them gave it to her son and he has the same signs and symptoms his uncles (my grandpa and his brothers have). My grandpa and one of his brothers gave cmt to their daughters so my mother also has is. She gave it to me. One sign of x-linked cmt is that there is no hereditary from father to son (the reason is simple: a father always passes his y-chromosme to his son). What is not true is that women don' t have cmt x-linked or even if they have they only show mild symptoms. My cmt is very progressive and I have the same symptoms and signs the men in my family have. But I hope you know that it can be tested if your husband has cmt x-linked by a genetic testing of his blood. They first test if someone has cmt 1 and if this is negative they look if it could be cmt x. Bye, JJSLP122@... schrieb: > I am trying to figure out what type of CMT my husband has. Guest guest
Lamar here, One of the blood tests will show X-linked CMT with accuracy. You might consider them. If a woman has X linked CMT, each child will have a 50/50 chance of inheriting it. Regards, Bud in TX
