There are a few dangerous kids out there as evidenced by littleton Colorado. But also evidenced by the same event is that the majority are wonderful kids who support their friends, weep with those who weep and mourn with those who mourn. God bless our kids!!! I substitute teach for a living ( or maybe I should say for extra fun money) and most of the kids are wonderful. In the 4 years I've been doing this I've only run across a few that scared me with " in your face " attitudes. The rest are just out there trying to sort out their emotions and raging hormones. Gentle pushes from involved parents steer them right. Most of the time. Children learn by example. They will grow up in many cases to be a lot like their parents morally although they will have their diverse personalities. But if parents are not involved they will look for someone else as their primary example - You may not like who they choose. Be that example. You may think they don't care what you say or what you think and that only their friends' opinions count. But they are watching every move you make and being influenced by it. They are especially watching to see if what you say (teach) and what you DO match. They are very sensitive to hypocrisy!! Make sure what they see (not just what they hear) is something you wamt them to eventually emulate. I will now step down off my soapbox. I " m just busy raising 2 teenage girls and learning day by day how to deal with them. ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
