Guest guest
Hi, I am new to the group. I would like to have some info or experience from others if I can. I am 35 yrs. old, and was diagnosed 6 months ago with RLS and PLMD, even though Ihave had it all my life. I had a back injury a couple years ago, and then it really started causing problems with my sleep. I went to my dr. and she said I was depressed and sent me to a psychologist. I told her I was not depressed, but I would be if I didn't get some sleep soon. I work full-time, go to school, have an ADHD 5-yr. old, and I was falling asleep at the wheel going to work in the am! My husband thought I was lazy cause I was falling asleep on the couch at 9pm every night! I was really starting to get anxious. Finally, she agreed to send me to the sleep clinic, by that time, I had started researching on my own, and figured out that I had RLS, and the sleep study confirmed it! I went on Sinemet in July, and I finally had dreams again! It was wonderful! About a month ago, the Sinemet stopped working. I tried Mirapex, and it worked for a bout a week, now today, he wants me to add a benzodiazapene with it at night. I am curious to know about others' experiences with the meds. and what do you do at night about 8pm when your legs start hurting really badly? I have tried hot baths, which helps a little, and walking around the room, but that is not really too conducive to sitting! Thanks for any help, Angie ************************************************************************ Angella Phone 244-5785 Staff Secretary, Sensory and Testing Accommodations FAX Div. of Rehabilitation Education Services University of Illinois 1207 S.
